Disney’s Snow White is directed by Marc Webb and is a live action remake of the original 1937 animated film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

I like Disney but the one thing I can’t stand is these live action remakes, they’re so repetitive. Some of them are ok at best, but others not so much, so when I heard that they were doing a live action remake of Snow White I wasn’t enthusiastic about it. But still, it’s my passion to watch movies and review them regardless if I’m excited or not, so here are my thoughts.
Disney’s Snow White is an utter atrocity. It is a soulless cash grab, another pointless live action remake, and easily one of the worst films Disney has ever produced. It’s not the worst film I have ever seen, but it’s up there. I would even go as far as to say that it is an embarrassment of a film. There are so many negative things that I have about this movie but before we get into that I have one positive about the film.
There is a lot of controversy surrounding the lead actress of the film Rachel Zegler. Personally I’m not the biggest fan of her work and I think there were much better actresses suited for the role of Snow white. But even though I have a negative opinion of her I can’t deny that she gave it her all in this role. She is beautiful and has such an amazing voice and the musical sequences were pretty good at best. You can tell she really put her heart into this and really enjoyed playing the role. But still her performance alone could not carry this film on its shoulders.
Gal Gadot is awful in this movie as the main villain. She easily gave the worst performance of her entire career. She can’t act or sing for her entire life. I genuinely do not understand how her performance in the film got past the cutting board. She is just too silly, corny and unintimidating to even be seen as a villain. It’s pathetic.
Also for some reason Disney thought it was a good idea to CGI the seven dwarfs instead of actually casting real dwarves. And it obviously wasn’t a good idea because they looked awful. The Dwarves were just so creepy, uncanny and just didn’t fit at all with the rest of the actors in the film. And to make it even worse, there was a dwarf actor in this movie but he wasn’t even playing the one of the seven dwarfs. That is just so disrespectful to the dwarf community, they’re literally keeping them from getting jobs, it’s disgusting.
Lastly, this movie had the same problem that every Disney live action remake suffered from, they are not interesting. They’re retelling a story that we have already seen before. They are also not good live action remakes, they are worse versions of the original films. It’s sickening.
Overall Snow White is yet another dud for Disney. I left the theater pissed that I
spent my money watching this garbage. I recommend you save your money and not see this film so Disney can learn to stop making this corporate slop over and over again. I hate that I have to talk so negatively, but unfortunately it’s the truth. It’s not worth it.
