Skrillex, Kaskade, Van Buuren, to Headline Events

Continuing their annual Pier of Fear Halloween tradition, Pacha NYC and RPM Presents have teamed up with superstar EDM DJs to headline upcoming events at Pier 94.

Pier 94, located along the West Side Highway, has annually hosted one of NYC’s most popular EDM events, Pier of Fear, since 2012.

This Halloween event has featured some of the biggest international DJs, including, Sebastian Ingrosso, Knife Party, Calvin Harris, Krewella, and Steve Aoki.

Holding approximately 10,000 people, this venue has created an EDM experience that wouldn’t be found at a nightclub. Giant, spooky decorations dangle over the tremendous crowd as fans enjoy their favorite music and state of the art lights and laser displays. These events have grown larger and drawn bigger performers every year. But so far, this year’s events have been the most anticipated.

First to be announced was American House DJ/producer and Grammy nominee, Ryan Raddon, a.k.a Kaskade, who just released his full-length album, Automatic, followed by an extensive tour that will make stops in 15 states and Toronto.

This is his ninth studio album, released through Warner Bros. Records on September 25. It includes hit songs “Never Sleep Alone,” “Disarm You,” and “Mercy.”

Pier 94 is one of the many stops on Kaskade’s tour, along with CID, a native New Yorker and the opening DJ at this Halloween rave on October 24.

Kaskade was in town during Memorial Day Weekend, when he headlined the Electric Daisy Carnival at MetLife Stadium. In Rolling Stone Magazine’s “20 Best Things We Saw At EDCNY 2015,” he was awarded the “Best Video Game Soundtrack,” for the Legend of Zelda remix he played during his set.

Besides EDCNY, the last time Kaskade was in the Big Apple was December 30, 2014, when Pacha NYC hosted the New York portion of his massive Redux tour at Pier 36. Kaskade’s reputation for show-stopping performances has fans wondering what he will do at Pier of Fear.

Especially after this year’s Coachella, where he attracted two of the largest crowds in the festival’s history, a huge turning point for electronic music at the iconic event.

Pacha and RPM made their second Pier of Fear announcement on September 18, when they revealed that six-time Grammy-winner Sonny Moore, a.k.a Skrillex, would be taking over Halloween Night. This event will be one of the biggest EDM Halloween extravaganzas that New York has ever seen, featuring performances from Dj Sliink, Leikeli47, Jahlil Beats, OWSLA’s Vindata, and the NYC debut of new act, Marshmello.

2015 has been more than kind to Skrillex, as he earned the number one spot on Billboard’s Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart with Skrillex & Diplo Present Jack Ü.

Their collaboration produced the hit song “Where Are Ü Now,” featuring Justin Bieber, which currently sits at number two on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart. Jack Ü closed out the biggest EDM event of the year, Ultra Music Festival in Miami, with their star-studded set featuring a live performance from Bieber and an appearance by Diddy. Skrillex was recently ranked ninth on the 2015 DJ Mag Top 100 DJs chart, and also appeared at number 45 as Jack Ü.

Party-goers can expect to hear some of Skrillex’s newest collaborative tracks, such as, “Squad Out,” with Jauz, “Bun Up The Dance,” with Dillon Francis, “No Chill,” with Vic Mensa, and “Burial,” with Yogi.

The last Pier of Fear artist to be announced was international trance god and Grammy nominee, Armin Van Buuren, who will be making his grand return to Pier 94 on October 30.

Van Buuren, is currently ranked at number four on the 2015 DJ Mag Top 100 DJs chart. He has been ranked number one five times, four of which were consecutive.

He sold out his last Pier 94 performance during Big Week last December, and fans have been warned by ticket vendors to buy their passes soon.

Van Buuren is the creator of A State of Trance (ASOT), traveling trance festival and a weekly radio show which has over 20 million listeners across 74 countries.

His latest studio album, Embrace, will be released on his Amsterdam-based trance label, Armada Music, the day before the Pier of Fear event. This album includes his leading hit single, “Another You,” featuring Mr. Probz, as well as his Hardwell collaboration on their track, “Off the Hook.”

Van Buuren’s last NYC appearance was at EDCNY earlier this year, where his occasionally played remix of John Lennon’s “Imagine,” had the crowd singing together in unity as fireworks decorated the sky.

He also performed at Madison Square Garden twice, selling out the iconic venue for his ASOT 600 event.

Fans can definitely expect to be embraced this Halloween during his anticipated return.

All of these events begin at 9PM and attendees must be 18 or older. Tickets are available on flavorus.com, which also offers “Fast Track,” allowing guests to hop on a faster line, avoiding the usual long wait for late arrivals. Guests over 21 will receive wristbands for purchasing alcohol. Costumes are optional, but partying hard is definitely not!
