Value Our Veterans with Fun!

Fight for Their Right to be Celebrated

By Lucia Rossi

They’ve served us, now it’s your turn to serve them.

It’s Veteran’s Day on November 11 and you will be happy to hear that there are so many ways to show your appreciation as well as witness the appreciation of others.

Treat your heroic sweetheart to a day they will remember by taking advantage of Veteran’s Day deals! That means discounts, free meals, and events.

One special event to mark the occasion is at the 9/11 Memorial & Museum located at 200 Liberty Street in NYC. They are having a “Salute to Service” by placing yellow roses in the names of those killed on 9/11 who served in the military. The Salute to Service kiosk will be giving out free admission vouchers for the museum where there will be a live talk “The Stories They Tell: World Trade Center Steel in Afghanistan,” by Dr. Andrew Hammond, which will talk about post 9/11 missions done by the US Special Forces.

If you want to have even more fun in NYC, then you should attend the America’s Parade! The parade will occur on Veteran’s Day from approximately 11:25AM-3:30PM going up Fifth Ave. from 26th to 52nd Street. This year’s parade will commemorate the 70th Anniversary of Desert Shield with the US Navy as this year’s featured military branch. If you arrive early, maybe you will catch the wreath laying ceremony at 11AM next to Madison Square Park.
