The Perfect Activities to do on Staten Island this Coming Winter

Just Because it’s Getting Colder Doesn’t Mean You Have to Stay In

By Briana Delbuono

Summer is over and you’re bummed about the cold weather but that doesn’t have to stop you from enjoying yourself.

Here are some fun and cost efficient activities you can look forward to doing this winter.

If you like drinking wine and painting, you can do them both at the same time.

At Pinot’s Palette, a mere $45 per person enables you to create your own masterpiece even if you aren’t the most artistic.

Local artists take you step by step through the process and the establishment provides you with all the tools (except any snacks you’ll want to eat) you’ll need throughout the entire process.

The relaxing and fun environment is perfect for any group of people, friends or even for a double date!

Fly High, Staten Island’s very own indoor trampoline park, is perfect for a cold winter day. The park offers a slew of activities including jumping around in a foam pit, flying around while attached to bungee cords, playing dodgeball and even dunking some basketballs – all while on trampolines.

Prices range from $13-$25 and allows you to jump around for a minimum of 30 minutes and a maximum of two hours!

Trying to get your heart racing? Try The Amazing Escape Room where you will be locked in a room where you have one hour to work together with 10-12 of your family and friends to escape.

There are different types of rooms and scenarios to choose from.

You can choose The Diamond Mine, The Heist, The Detective’s Office or Super Hero Alley.

These rooms create environments that simulate incredibly real situations in which you will have to use your brain power to crack the codes.

Good luck!

If you’re artsy, try checking out the Culture Lounge at the Staten Island Ferry Terminal.

The purpose of this gallery is to engage commuters who normally aren’t exposed to this type of work.

International and local artists’ works are featured in the Culture Lounge and it’s completely free to take a look around.

Chocolate lovers: pay attention!

Supreme Chocolatier offers a wide selection of chocolate and assorted candies you can purchase for friends or loved ones.

The factory offers chocolates that are catered to every occasion, making it an all year round fan favorite.

And who doesn’t love chocolate in the wintertime that is sold for cheap?

Another fun, indoor activity is cosmic bowling! Rab’s Country Lanes guarantees a good time whether you bring your family, friends, or both.

Open until 3 A.M. on Friday and Saturday nights, cosmic bowling is glow in the dark bowling!

For just $15 per person, you and your friends can participate in some healthy competition.

Interested in a little Staten Island culture? The Alice Austen House is one of the many historic landmarks in New York City.

Austen was one of our country’s earliest photographers and her work is displayed inside the home.

Open to the public from 11 A.M. – 5 P.M. Tuesday-Sunday during the March – December months!

The Funky Elephant offers a Bingo Brunch Drag Show with Luscious Lola on Saturdays between 1 P.M. and 3 P.M.

This event provides games, prizes, entertainment and of course, FOOD!

Just $18.95 per person provides you with two cocktails and a guaranteed fun time
