Can he Make America Great Again?

On January 20 2017, President Donald J. Trump was sworn in as the 45th President of the United States. During his inauguration, President Trump explained it was not an exchange of powers between one administration to another, but an exchange of power to the people. “I will fight for you with every breath in my body – and I will never, ever let you down,” said Trump.  

The first 100 days of a first-term presidency is crucial. During this time, the President’s power  and influence is tested. According to PBS Newsroom, “the accomplishments of a president’s first 100 days have become the measure of a successful start.”

President Trump promised a great deal to the American people. During his first 100 days President Trump plans on keeping jobs and businesses in America. He wants to hire American and buy American. He plans to clean up Washington D.C. from corruption and restore national security by expanding military. President Trump’s most controversial plan was to build a wall between the United States and Mexico.

President Trump said often during his campaign he wants to “hire American.” According to Fox  News “Trump Lauds 298K Jobs” during February 2017. Economists projected a gain of only 190,000.  

President Trump, before being sworn into office, helped to persuade Bill Ford, Ford’s Executive Chairman, to no longer move production of its Lincoln MKC luxury SUV from Louisville to Mexico.

One of President Trump’s key campaign promises was to clean up the corruption in Washington, D.C. Trump has signed two executive orders that banning government officials from lobbying. One of the executive orders instituted a five year ban on White House and Congressional officials becoming lobbyists after they’ve left government service.  

The second order signed was a lifetime ban on White House officials lobbying on behalf of a foreign government.  This order will prevent people with inside information from influencing legislators and officials.

President Trump signed an executive order to enact a travel ban for several Muslim-majority countries. This order banned countries that showed a high threat to America.  Mant news media outlets reported wrongly called this a “Muslim Ban.”  This order was put into action to protect the American people.  

This order since it was originally signed has been edited to fit the needs of the country and its people. This executive order also introduced a cap on refugees coming into the states. Having a cap on refugees coming to the U.S. gives an adequate time for investigation.

Since President Trump’s inauguration, the stock market has skyrocketed. If you aren’t sure how who is in office affects the stock exchange, it’s really pretty simple.

President Trump is the leader of the United States, if other companies here and abroad have faith in America’s financial stability, they will be more likely to invest in the U.S. economy in a myriad of ways. This in the long run will make the U.S. dollar more valuable, which  will grow our  economy and the world’s too.

President Trump is in talks with building a wall between the United States and Mexico. This topic has caused people to protest in the streets against it. Numerous countries throughout the world have extensive borders and border control. If you are an American citizen you need a passport or visa if you want to stay for a long period of time. President Trump is implementing rules that other countries have, but no one in those countries are rioting in their streets.

President Trump also plans to get done in his first 100 days is to complete an “offshore act” of some kind. This will establish rules and incentives to discourage companies from laying off their workers in order to relocate to other countries and ship their products back to the U.S. with tax incentives. AIf Congress passes this bill, it’ll keep more  jobs in America.

President Trump has kept his promise to the country.
Even if you personally don’t agree with his beliefs he is making changes and doing what he planned. Now we wait to see what else is in store to  Make America Great Again.
