“What’s Your Name Man? Alexander Hamilton!”

On July 3rd, 2020 “Hamilton” came out on Disney+. “Hamilton” is a Broadway smash hit that has audiences coming from all around the world to experience this worldwide phenomenon. This musical was filmed back in 2016 and took only three days to film. What you see on Disney+ is the original Broadway cast.

“Hamilton” written by Lin Manuel Miranda, is a musical that was inspired from an autobiography entitled “Alexander Hamilton” written by historian Ron Chernow. The text inspired Miranda to create a hip-hop infused musical based on Hamilton’s story. 

It was there that Miranda said he wanted to create a musical about someone who embodies hip hop, who would be known as Alexander Hamilton. He began writing and before he knew it, Miranda performed a song at the White House for 44th President, Barack Obama. Later, the song performed would be included in the award winning Broadway Musical, “Hamilton.”

After watching “Hamilton”’ on Disney+, I can wholeheartedly say, the music in it is unbelievably awesome! From rap to hip hop, the songs in this musical are very catchy and will have you singing all day. This beautifully written musical was a great addition to Disney+, allowing a wide range of audiences from around the world to view the magic. 

The year 2020 has brought us a lot of new experiences, along with showing us the feeling of bringing Broadway into your home. Along with “Hamilton,” plays such as “Into the Woods” and “SpongeBob SquarePants: The Musical” made a live taping of their respectful shows. 

If you would like to binge watch some of your Broadway favorites, the website www.broadwayhd.com allows you to watch these shows again and again. The only downside is after the 7 day free trial, you would have to pay either for the monthly plan ($8.99 per month) after your free trial, or the yearly plan ($99.99 yearly) after your free trial. 

Due to the current pandemic, Broadway theaters are temporarily closed. Since the theaters are closed, no one can go and see Broadway shows in person. Like I mentioned before, you can sign up for Broadwayhd and watch your favorite shows again and again.

This pandemic has changed the way of viewing theater. With Broadway shut down temporarily, no one can go to the theater and watch their favorite Broadway shows in person. One day, this pandemic will all be over and we can again experience the joy of viewing theater in person.

“Hamilton” is by far the best musical I have ever seen! “Hamilton” brings the concept of American history like you’ve never seen it before. 

It brings American history to life, Broadway musical style. If you haven’t seen the musical in real life, tune into Disney+.
