The Withering Flower

By Klaudia Wiacek

Who was once filled with the greatest spirit and vivid vibrance

Who was once joyous and lighthearted

Whose heart seemed content

Oh darling, your beautiful soul

Your withering soul

Oh darling, when did your heart become so heavy to bear?

Down the stairs of demise, you go

Careless yet tranquil

Preparing for the final dance

The final show

Letting it go

Your withering soul

Falling down petal by petal reaching the ground

Until there is nothing left to be found

Leaving an exposed stem

The stem that once held your soul

The soul that has been let go
