Fans are anticipatedly waiting for the third book in Stephanie Garber’s Once Upon
A Broken Heart series to be released.

A Curse for True Love by Stephanie Garber hit the shelves October 24th, 2023!
This will be the third and final book in the critically acclaimed fantasy series Once Upon a Broken Heart series.
Fans everywhere are anticipating its release as the last book was left on an enticing cliffhanger. Everyone wants and needs to know what will happen next. A somewhat spinoff series to her other brilliant series Caraval, however you don’t need to read those books first to read these.
The story takes place in The Land of the Magnificent North, where Evangeline Rose, thought of herself as a simple village girl, is part of a bigger plan in motion. In alliance with the Prince of Hearts Jacks, they must stop it no matter what. Evangeline is part of a prophecy she would never think to be a part of.
Jacks is known as a Fate who is immortal and can’t feel human emotions. However, Evangeline turns his world upside down. In the first two books, we follow Evanegline who originally seeking out Jacks’ help to cure her broken heart, was led on an
unexpected quest. In the midst of it all, she made a deal with Jacks where she needs to do three things he says with no question.
Along with that, they need to find certain stones that if put together, can open a mystical door and give that person valuable treasure. Their quest, like most, was not smooth sailing and they hit various obstacles along the way. Evangeline and Jacks form an interesting relationship that clearly shows them gaining feelings for one another. However, if Jacks kisses someone, the person instantly dies. Only one person lived after being kissed and Jacks doesn’t want to risk killing Evangeline.
In the first book, it was Evanegeline doing Jacks’ bidding along with going on the quest that only she can accomplish. The second book continues the quest where the characters meet startling revelations and secrets are revealed while realizing they enjoy each other’s company. We find out who Jacks actually is and how Evangeline fits into this huge puzzle.
The Ballad of Never After, the second book in the series, ends on a chilling cliffhanger that left all readers immediately needing the next one. No one knows how this book will play out as Stephanie Garber has given hints and quotes that the book will be sad.
I am very excited, as are other fans, of this very well written series that gives us magical elements of storytelling that Garber has put together. Hopefully, this final book will leave us happy and satisfied with how she ends this story and the characters with it.
