The nation is steering from what it knows and embracing a “Mrs.” President???

Amelia Earhart, Frida Kahlo, Maya Angelou, and now Kamala Harris are names that will go down in the U.S. history.
Harris’ history as an attorney and as the junior U.S. senator of California, she has jumped leaps and bounds in how she represents of what women all across the world are capable of. The classic phrase “you fight like a girl” will no longer be just an insult used on the playground, but a clear contradiction to what has been proven to us time and time again. Centuries of rhetoric around the stay-at-home mother and phrases like “Trad wife” have paired nicely with the working husband that keeps a roof over their heads and food on the dinner table. But with such a drastic shift in the roles that women play within our society this is a practice that is bound to go up in flames.
Harris’ took a stand and serves as an inspiration in the eyes of the public. Not only that, but what could also be viewed as an act of rebellion against the stereotypes of societal women and symbolizes the disagreement over the expectations of women being viewed as “lady-like”. This past Wednesday, October 9, 2024, The New York Times released their top story regarding Harris followed by “Voters are more likely to see her as a break in the Status Quo”. The possibility of Harris winning this election is capable of bring fear and intimidation to those who feel that the country should continue its tradition.
With a few of our countries allies such as Honduras and Trinidad electing woman to power, this only continues to move us forward. America could be seen as an even braver nation when it comes to change and strengthen its relationships between our allies.
Harris already marked her place in history as the first women to be vice president which took a huge toll on her image and career. With being the president, she would give a voice to all young girls and women of the endless possibilities. The world could imagine the volumes that would be spoken through the victory of Harris winning the 2024 presidential election. A history would be made for all womankind. The meaning of feminism would touch yet another of its highest peaks.
