There has been a lot of focus from the democratic party; specifically, by networks like CNN and PBS, on education being a major indicator for how many swing states may shift their votes.
Depending on whether or not these voters are college educated or have any varying level of formal education will be important to consider when making predictions on which way a particular state will lean.
There has also been discussion on the gender gap being another major determiner for how many of these battle ground states will shift their votes. During the PBS’ Live election coverage (in addition to CNN and FOX News’ election coverage), Many of their correspondents, have pointed to the gender gap being a major factor in not only how each candidate went about conducting their campaigns but also provides a much more predictable voter outcome to these networks based on certain states population demographic.
