How dare you not know anything Marvel!

Marvel Comics’ Daredevil #1 first hit the press in April 1964, later on debuting on TV screens in 2015, leaving some of its viewers feeling a bit heated. But unlike others, Ralphael Trottman-Padilla could beg to differ.
“This show is what got me into comics in the first place,” said Trottman-Padilla.“After watching the first season, I simply wanted more.”

For those who don’t know, Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) production “Daredevil” features an iconic blind lawyer and vigilante by the name of Matt Murdock, whose main objective is to keep the citizens of Hell’s Kitchen safe.
The ideology behind Matt Murdock’s worldview is shaped by his personal history and the inequalities he sees around him. He’s a character caught between the legal system and the streets, using his legal expertise to battle crime while also using his superpowers to help people. Murdock believes in finding a middle ground, pursuing justice through both the courts and his own form of vigilantism.

Daredevil embodies the conflict between upholding the law and taking matters into one’s own hands, a theme that resonates deeply with Trottman-Padilla. Inspired by Murdock’s dedication to justice, Trottman-Padilla aspires to become a lawyer, driven by the belief that justice must always be served. He sees the legal profession as a means to fight for those who cannot fight for themselves, much like Murdock does in his dual role as a lawyer and vigilante.
His ambition is fueled by a desire to make a tangible difference and change in the world today, ensuring fairness and equity under the oath. Religion is also a big topic throughout the storyline and is portrayed through the form of Catholicism.
“As a catholic myself, it’s cool to see that one of Daredevil’s main themes promotes religion and openly shows that he’s a Catholic,” said Trottman-Padilla. “I get this cathartic feeling seeing him constantly going to confession as any Catholic would.”
For many Daredevil enthusiasts like Trottman-Padilla, the cancellation of the show back in November 2018 by Netflix felt like a punch to the gut. The series had become more than just entertainment; it was a source of inspiration and a reminder of the importance of fighting for justice.
Thankfully, after the hard work and dedication by Daredevil fans in March 2025, Disney Plus came out with a sequel titled “Born Again,” awakening millions of fans from hibernation.

As a result of this disappointment, and fueled by a dedication to writing, the cancellation of Daredevil Born Again motivated Trottman-Padilla to channel his passion into creating and drawing drafts for his very own comic book series. He sought to craft a story that captured the same spirit of justice, resilience, and moral complexity.
“This comic book follows the storyline of a 19-year-old vigilante in college,” said Trottman-Padilla. “He’s getting ready to tackle the darkest aspects of life within his city while also overcoming his dark past.”
So, what’s next for Trottman-Padilla?
Hopefully, in the near future, we’ll see this authentic storyline take flight, topping global Marvel headlines and making not only himself but also his fellow Daredevil enthusiasts proud.

Remember, if you can’t handle the heat, stay out of Hell’s Kitchen.
