The Community College or the Great Community Spiral?

CSI isn’t all what it seems.

After attending CSI for almost four years, one thing has held my attention. Although the campus looks well-kept and has a nice view from the outside, the inside tells a much different story.

Some buildings on campus have new paint while others are in desperate need of renovations. Some walls have not seen a new layer of paint since the opening of the college back in 1956.

While attending community college has its pros and cons, the maintenance at CSI is a huge con. From holes in the ceiling to paint practically falling off the walls, campus buildings do not have the love and care they need.

The issue of maintenance is not just a cosmetic one, there is also the lack of cleanliness. Yes, I have seen the janitors. But if I’m being honest, none of the rooms are ever clean.

In Spring, this campus is blooming with flowers and freshly mowed grass. In the Fall, the orange and red leaves steal the show. The view of the campus is to die for. From the outside, that is.

On the inside, the classroom kills students from within. The fluorescent lights give an instant headache, and the screens on the windows have holes or no screen at all. Is it that hard to keep up with the campus’s basic maintenance needs?

No one is asking for art to be displayed in each and every classroom or for there to be a theme in every single room. A new coat of paint and a working projector would be nice, but hey, I guess that’s just community college for you.
