This Shore Bar Will Win The Popularity Contest By Two.

A duel between two well known shore bars

Bar Anticipation is the hot spot for college students this summer, with their wide range of music and spacious dance floor. It’s the place to be.

Down at the shore, in New Jersey, there are many bars and clubs that attract college students from all over. The two well-known bars are Djais and Bar Anticipation. Both places are crowded and filled with music and drinks, but which one is “the place to be this summer?”

Bar Anticipation, the bar that’s loved by many.

These bars mainly attract crowds from Staten Island and locals in New Jersey. While both bars are good places for nightlife, one of these places is simply better than the other. When asking college girls what bar they’ll be spending the most time in, this summer the answers varied but there was one common answer among the few.

“ I prefer Bar A because of the amount of space you have with indoor and outdoor bars,” said Gianna Burnett. “And the amount of dance space gives an option for anyone to feel like they have a choice and not be stuffed in like sardines.”

Bar Anticipation or “Bar A”, is located at 703 16th Avenue, Lake Como New Jersey. The bar itself is huge and has plenty of space, with them having an indoor and outdoor section they can fit a surplus of people.

Bar A does theme nights and even has special Dj’s playing most nights. It’s a place where everyone can find what they’re looking for. This bar also gets the crowd involved, with handing out necklaces, glow sticks, stuffed animals, t-shirts and even light up rings.

Angela DeGeorge, a 22 year old who loves spending most of her summers down in New Jersey at a shore bar. When asked which bar was the better choice she went against the crowd.

“I would obviously pick Djais for a couple of reasons,” said DeGeorge. “I like how it’s smaller so I can be around all my friends instead of Bar A where everyone is so spread out it’s like a maze to find them.”

Bar A had originally opened in 1981, where it was purchased and developed by a group of partners that same year. Bar Anticipation’s old- school decor dates back to the early 1900’s, when it was a part of the Pine Grove Inn. Bar A was originally a local secret, where everyone knew everyone there.

Bar A has live entertainment such as a band named “Man Down” and DJ’s like Kirk Lopes and Vito G. Both bands and DJ’s play a wide spread of music that there is something everyone will enjoy.

“I love Bar A, with all the outdoor space and indoor space and the stage is cool,” said JoAnn Ruriani. “There’s multiple places to get drinks and multiple bathrooms, and being able to get food in the middle of dancing the night away is awesome.”

Not only does this bar tend to all your music needs, but your hunger needs as well. Bar Anticipation has a food site right on premises allowing the crowd to dance, get food, drink alcohol and go home with a prize.

Saturday nights and Tuesday nights are the most popular nights to go. Saturday nights are the busier nights that contain high energy and large crowds. Tuesday nights are the bar’s “Beat the Clock” nights. These Tuesday nights include a budget friendly night with heavily discounted drinks that increase by the hour.

“I would pick Bar A Tuesdays over a Djais holiday weekend though,” said DeGeorge. “Because it’s way too packed at Djais.”
