Cruelty-Free Drugstore Makeup That’s Friendly to Your Heart and Wallet

Here Are Some Products You Won’t Want to Miss

By: Jennifer Weeks

It’s no secret to anyone who is familiarized with beauty products that in fact some companies do indeed test their products on animals. However, there are a good number of inexpensive cosmetics being sold at your local drugstore, like Walgreens, CVS, even Target and Walmart, that carry cruelty-free products.

The most popular and inexpensive places to buy cosmetics are usually local drugstores. But what most people don’t know is that drugstore cosmetics are the ones that are more likely to carry products that are not cruelty-free.

Would you be able to wear a blush or mascara that cost a poor innocent bunny its life? Some people don’t want that on their conscience, so here are five cruelty-free drugstore makeup brands and products I recommend.

The first brand that is cruelty-free, as well as inexpensive, is Bonne Bell. Their Eye Shadow Box Café Classics is a four-color palette and is sold at Walgreens. It can also be purchased online and has the affordable price of $3.95. Depending on the location and state, this cosmetic may vary in shades as well as price.

Another cruelty-free brand is E.L.F, their Moisturizing Lipstick has a wide variety of colors that meet any shoppers needs. They are also inexpensive; this product is sold in any drugstore, particularly in Target. The online price for this bad boy is a low amount $2.99.

The third brand I would like to mention is Milani, their Conceal + Perfect 2 in 1 Foundation is a lightweight, oil-free formula, with medium to full coverage, is long wearing, water resistant and sweat proof. This product is currently being sold online and in stores at Walmart. This possibly holy grail product costs $8.97. It’s a little more expensive than the past products mentioned but is a steal compared to the luxury brand foundations.

Another brand I would like to mention is NYX and their Professional Makeup Sweet Cheeks Blush Palette. It is an eight-shade palette that claims to be pigmented, buttery-smooth, and suitable for all skin types. NYX is a low budget cosmetic company that allows you to get more bang for your buck. This palette helps to accentuate your cheekbones with both matte and shimmery shades.

You can own this palette by coming to or ordering online from CVS. The original price of this product is $20.00, but can currently be found on-sale for $14.00 on the NYX website. This is not bad for an eight-blush palette.

Last but not least, Wet N Wild is a wise choice for a budget-friendly cruelty-free makeup brand. Their Mega Protein Mascara in the shade “very black” is made of formulas consisting of soy, oil, acai, wheat proteins, and D- Panthenol. This mascara helps protect and strengthen, as well as, nourish those long lasting lashes. You can own this mascara for the low price of $2.49, this price does vary on location and online purchases.

These are just five of my personal favorite cruelty-free brands and products. Also, keep in mind, that the prices and products do vary depending on location and website.

Stay cruelty-free beauty lovers.
