My Chemical Romance announced their first stadium tour with a slew of performances in North America to celebrate the band’s third studio album ‘’The Black Parade’’.

After My Chemical Romance (MCR) headlined “When We Were Young” Fest 2024, the band announced their summer 2025 North American Stadium Tour “Long Live” the Black Parade on November 12th in celebration of their 17th anniversary of the band’s most popular album ‘’The Black Parade’’. MCR will feature “The Black Parade” played in its entirety on this tour and will perform 11 shows across 10 different cities in North America.

Santana looks forward to hearing her favorite MCR song ‘’Blood’’ Live.

This will be the band’s second and largest North American tour since the band reunited back in 2019 and their subsequent 2022 reunion tour in arenas across North America. For the band’s 2025 tour, ‘’Long Live’’ the Black Parade, MCR is set to perform in six MLB ballparks and three NFL stadiums. This includes a hometown performance in New Jersey at MetLife Stadium on August 9th, 2025.

‘’I was supposed to see My Chemical Romance headline with Fall Out Boy at When We Were Young, but it ended up not working out,’’ said Kristen Sparacio, a senior at CSI. ‘’I couldn’t see them at When We Were Young, so I’m really excited to see My Chemical Romance in August.’’

MCR was formed in 2001 in New Jersey after lead singer Gerard Way witnessed the events of the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center. A day after, Way wrote the band’s first song ‘’Skylines and Turnstiles’’ to express how he felt about the tragedy.  The band’s lineup consists of lead vocalist Gerard Way, bassist Michael James Way, lead guitarist Ray Toro, rhythm guitarist Frank Iero, and drummer Jarod Alexander.

Santana analyzed the trailer for ’Long Live ‘’ The Black Parade, to see if My Chemical Romance teased any new music.

Since the band’s creation in 2001, MCR has released four studio albums, three compilation albums, and two live albums. The first studio album ‘’I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love’’ was released in 2002, the band’s fourth and last studio album ‘’Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys’’ was released in 2010.

‘’My Favorite MCR album is Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge,’’ said Sparacio. ‘’That entire album just screams chaos to me, and I love it.’’

MCR announced their breakup to fans on their website on March 23rd, 2013. The band lasted twelve years from 2001 to 2013. A year later in 2014, the band released their greatest hits compilation album ‘’May Death Never Stop You’. The album featured the single ‘’Fake Your Death’’ the last song MCR recorded together before the band separated.

‘’My Chemical Romance’s music helped me discover who I was,’’ said Santana. ‘’If it weren’t for their music, I would probably still be in a little shell not being able to fully express myself.’’

After six years of being separated, MCR announced their reunion on October 31st, 2019, with a show in Los Angeles. After tickets for the show in Los Angeles sold out the band announced a worldwide reunion tour in 2020. However, the tour was postponed until 2022 due to COVID-19. For their 2022 reunion tour MCR released their first single in over eight years called ‘’The Foundations of Decay’’.

‘’I saw MCR on September 11th, 2022, and that was crazy,’’ said Soph Agandouch, a sophomore at CSI. ‘’It was their first tour back post-pandemic, and it was a big deal.’’

For the 2025 tour, MCR is set to perform the entirety of ‘’The Black Parade’’. Which includes songs the band failed to include on the setlist for the reunion tour. The songs ‘’The End.’’, ‘’Dead!’’, ‘’The Sharpest Lives”, ‘’Disenchanted’’, and “Blood” will all be played by the band.

‘’I can’t wait to see My Chemical Romance in August,’’ said Hailey Santana, a junior at CSI. ‘’The Black Parade is one of my favorite albums, I’m excited to hear Disenchanted live’’.

Santana purchased a ticket to see her favorite band My Chemical Romance perform on August 9th, 2025.
