The 2020 Presidential election is one of the biggest election years in American history. The corona virus is here, and the two candidates, Joe Biden and Donald Trump need to take control of the virus.

In New York City there are a total 23,955 deaths from the corona virus and 261,000 cases. Today 1,629 people have contracted the virus and 17 have died.

“Anybody who contracts the virus by essentially saying, masks don’t matter, social distancing doesn’t matter,” said Joe Biden. “I think is responsible for what happens to them.”

America has recorded at least 8,380,000 cases since the pandemic began, and more than 222,000 people have died of the coronavirus. Experts predict the worst of the nation’s third surge of new cases is yet to come.

The election can fix this outcome or make things worse for Americans. It is not only important for Americans, but the world too. The virus affects trade and travel too.

“The doctors said they’ve never seen a body kill the Coronavirus like my body,” said Donald Trump. “They tested my DNA, and it wasn’t DNA. It was USA.

Social distancing and the closing of large and small businesses around the country have caused millions of Americans to lose their jobs and file for unemployment. U.S. markets went from the highest it’s been in February 2020, to a low by the middle of March.

“Everything we are hearing from Trump is a common theme of reducing the tax burden,” said Tony Nitti. “The GOP won’t run on a platform of raising taxes for anyone, let alone small business.”

The U.S. China trade war has dominated headlines since President Trump took office. In his first two years as president, the Trump Administration has pulled out of several trade deals, introduced a new trade deal with Canada and Mexico, and levied hundreds of billions of dollars in tariffs on Chinese companies.

In America, 16.9 million people were unemployed in July. 9.6 millions of those unemployed workers were unable to work because their employer closed or lost business due to the pandemic. The majority of those on temporary layoff in July were unable to work because of the pandemic 78% of people.

“If you hear nothing else, I say tonight hear this,” said Joe Biden. “Anyone who’s responsible for that many deaths should not remain as president of United States of America.”

The election is big because the pandemic because hurts lot of American people. The pandemic not only hurts your employment but increases the chance of you becoming sick.

The American people are hoping the election getting them out of this mess.  Climate change is a big issue in this election. 68% say it is very important to their vote, this ranks behind majorities on issues like health care, 84%, the coronavirus outbreak, 82% and racial and ethnic inequality, 76%.

“Social events are what are giving us a really hard time right now,” said Dobbs. “Cases linked to group gatherings are frankly more seen within certain subsets of the white population.”
