The latest of the Super Bowl accumulated more hundreds of millions of viewers but how was the game itself?

On February 11th the 58th edition of the Super Bowl was held in Nevada.  The new Super Bowl was highly anticipated because of the incursion of Taylor Swift into the game. It was anticipated that millions of new fans would watch for the first time.  The predictions were ultimately correct with Super Bowl 58 reaching an audience of 123 million, a new milestone in television only broken by the viewership of the moon landing.

The game itself was an interesting thing to watch, the first half of the game saw zero touchdowns, there was over seven field goals. Kansas City faced numerous interceptions and Pat Mahomes the quarterback saw frequent sacks that led to a loss of yards. The San 49ers managed to score the first touchdown; soon the defending champions, Kansas City Chiefs found themselves trailing by multiple points. This was eventually reversed with Kansas City performing a strong comeback. The game eventually went into overtime. This is the second Super Bowl to go into overtime since 2017 with the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons.  The game became insanely intense with the score displaying near parity between teams. Kansas City Chiefs came out on top with only three seconds left, an intense clutch performance. Mahomes ended the game with 335 YDs, 2 TDs and 1 Int. This is Patrick Mahomes’ third super bowl ring and fourth Super Bowl appearance. Kansas City Chiefs became the first team in 20 years to win two consecutive Super Bowls. Patrick Mahomes joins a select few quarterbacks to win three or more Super Bowls.  Usher was also the halftime performance this year, he managed to bring out multiple stars such as Alicia Keys.

While the recent Super Bowl broke viewership records, many polemics have been expressed. Numerous individuals have expressed dismay at the predictability of the outcome, even before you start watching you can guarantee that the Chiefs are going to win and that the camera will point to Taylor Swift cheering and celebrating, there have been accusations of the NFL and Super Bowl being scripted. There is no conclusive evidence, but many are using this game as evidence that the NFL is scripted. Taylor Swift has brought in copious amounts of new revenue, sponsorships, and fans.  Other news outlets have analyzed that Taylor Swift is only featured 30 seconds, debunking the view that she is absorbing all the attention at football games. Yet the NFl  gave Taylor Swift her own highlight reel, strange considering that she is not even a player or was on the field

Overall, we see that this Super Bowl has broken numerous and will likely be remembered in the future
